AIR DROP

This image was quite a challenge to shoot. I was harnessed into a helicopter with the doors off and shooting at 14mm wide open! You can imagine how close we had to get to achieve this shot. Shooting at a shutter speed around 2000 and trying to get a good shot without rotor blades in the image was a challenge of monumental effort. We must have come up to the fall and banked toward the fall a dozen times before we got it! The rotor was lifting water vapor into the cabin of the helicopter, requiring me to wipe my lens dry on each attempt! What a rush but totally worth the image!
