Beginning

The desert is a mystery, hiding her secrets from those whom seldom visit to see what beauty she has in store. After years of return trips and awaiting the time when the perfect conditions existed for these blooms to reveal themselves, I finally found myself here! In the desert before the sunlight touched the earth… I was standing above these gorgeous little Bee Weed blooms. Barely two inches tall and surviving insurmountable odds of germinating, here they stood as gorgeous, proud and stout little gems. I searched for a composition that spoke to the silent serenity that spoke the truth of this magical place. I wanted to capture the dry, cracked earth and the life within it and this particular composition spoke to me the best. I shot it as the light came across the land and I chose this particular capture because the blue hour of dawn really displayed the cool nature of the earth before first light.
