Winter was in full swing and the snow was falling all over the Cascades and all through the West; however, in this small corner of the Pacific Northwest everything was crisp and the scent of evergreens pierced the air. I had been awaiting the time when the morning sun would beam through this sea arch. With conditions ephemeral and simply perfect, I waited for the waves to catch light in the arch just right and captured a moment of pure magic! A brilliant halo surrounded the sun in the perfect position as I framed this shot that I had been envisioning for nearly a decade!
