I had been tracking this particular storm system for at least ten or more days, it was fierce and extremely cold. I knew the odds were pretty good that we would see a ton of snow in the Southwest desert; however, nothing could have prepared me for what was to come. With over a foot of fresh powdery snow covering the entire desert and a clear sky to the west giving way to the stormy to the stormy sky rapidly moving east, I set up in the starlit brilliance of the dimly lit dawn sky to capture this true treasure of the Mojave Desert.

The sun had long since kissed the horizon, so long in fact that it was nearing its rise upon the Eastern sky as I focused my attention to the setting moon across the grandest ocean on earth! The clouds slightly obscuring the glow and the milky way sparkling across the sky behind it. In the scene there was an erupting thors well creating the most surreal scene imaginable and to think that I was there, standing before it, ready to capture this serene and beautiful moment of earth magic was beyond my wildest imagination.
