EMBRACE

I shot along the shores of Kauai’s North Shore during a winter storm. What happened next was truly a moment I cannot forget. We had almost missed sunrise due to flooding on the island and getting around was a chore due to the landslides and flooded roads. We finally got to the shoreline after a short hike and found that the sun was well above the horizon. The light found a small portal to shine through and it called to me like nothing I have seen before. With a fast shutter and perfect lighting, I was able to capture “Embrace” and feel fortunate that I was supposed to be late! Had I been there for sunrise, I would have never captured this image as I rarely stay after the light gets harder.
