ENLIGHTENMENT

With coastal fog being a common occurrence on the Northern Californian coast, one would think that shots such as this would be a commonplace experience. Yet after spending six years chasing and countless trips up to this region, I hadn’t yet captured such a scene! After waiting all morning for the marine layer to come ashore, I was pulling at my emotions with what to do and where to go; however, I stood fast. I waited and began hiking the trail as the fog made landfall. Within minutes of dropping elevation, I was consumed in a slightly moving cloak of white fine mist that moved about with the smallest of breezes through the magical redwoods! After a few minutes, light rays began to shoot out across the forest floor and all around me, then it disappeared! I sat in anticipation as I waited for the next wave of fog to sweep through the forest and behold, this time I had finally captured a rare and all too elusive moment among the redwoods!
