ENSHROUDED

After enduring one of the largest storms to hit central California’s Sierra Nevada range in nearly a decade, the sun was due to rise in only a short time. As I waited in the dim lit glow of dawn, the clouds never really broke. The snow continued to fall, and the fog was ethereal and thick. After a few hours of standing in the cold, I caught but a fleeting glimpse of Mt. Whitney’s granite spires before she was once again wrapped up in a blanket of fog… In many ways, moments such as these truly define the pursuit and the very essence of why I chase fleeting light!
