Ice Lakes Majesty

You never feel quite as alive as you do at 13,000 ft. looking over the high country. This moment took my breath away, literally. The trail was a steady incline, and our heart rates began to rise quickly as our pace began to set in. The dark night was slowly beginning to give way to the rising crescent moon which lit the mountainside in the soft light as we were able to make our way without the aid of light. After a couple hours, the suns glow was beginning to come over the horizon as we made it up the mountain face and then we saw the lake below. We were running late from what I had originally planned for. Once we made it down to Ice Lake, the sun was already shining overhead. Although unplanned, I was elated to capture the dappled sunlight on the mountains across this beautiful high alpine lake. The water was an incredible cobalt blue and there wasn’t a breath of wind, which revealed this perfect reflection with light rays!
