KANALOA’S FURY

I had hiked through a shower of light misting rain along the Hana Coast. I was navigating myself though the labyrinth of lava rock and came out above this beautiful coconut surrounded bay. The rain squall had settled just on the distant horizon and the light shone from under the clouds! The sea moved violently yet with a peaceful rhythm that crashed against the shoreline! I managed to get into a good position to capture the scene by carefully rock hopping to a small ledge above the crashing waves, where I began to compose this shot. I left shortly thereafter when the rain began to pour hard and I made my retreat for a grove of coconut palms to wait out the storm!
