MOONBOW OVER EYSTRAHORN
The last evening spent in Iceland, I headed to the far side of this shoreline where I spent the evening capturing this unworldly night sky. The ice crystals in the sky mixed with the moonlight peeking from behind the mountain lit up to create this massive moondog. What creates these rare settings is a lunar halo caused by the refraction of moonlight by hexagonal-plate-shaped ice crystals in cirrus or cirrostratus clouds. Only lasting for about 30 minutes, I was very fortunate to capture this epic moment.
