Reckoning

It was storming and sleeting sideways all night and all morning. As I was sitting in the rain, I was considering taking shelter as barely a thing was moving! Visibility was almost nothing as the clouds enshrouded everything above 7,000 ft. I paused and began to drift off for a moment in daydreams thinking what if the storm would lift, what would it be like? What would I see? Not a moment too soon and the sun broke through the clouds off in the distance! The rain which had been relentless began to slowly release its grip and the sky parted for a brief moment revealing this scene you see here… The words of elation I had were more like screams for joy and elation as the mountain came into view with snow and clouds blowing across the ridgetops! The foreground aspens began to light up with a soft glow and I simply knew I had just captured something so original and so rare I was on cloud nine!
