My favorite pursuit is casing light among the rarest moments. When the desert blooms, which is fleeting and exceptionally rare, I drop everything I am doing to go out and chase this momentous event! With a hopeful heart, I embarked on a trip down an old ranch road, parked and began my long hike around the mountain. I was seeing sights that looked promising; however, it was not until I rounded the corner of this bend, revealing a hidden alcove that my breath simply paused for a moment! I sat well into dusk shooting the copios blooms, delighting my senses with the songs of birds and the flowers swaying in the gentle breeze.
