Sentinel

The early morning moonlight lit up the star filled sky, the prominent reflection of El Capitan reflected in the gently flowing waters of the Merced River. A fresh snow had fallen that night and I had been walking around the valley at 2:00 AM with a full moon all alone in the still quiet! When I saw this composition, it took over my impulse to search as I knew I found something special! The slightly frozen river with ice crystals on it and a small snowcapped rock sitting next to the amazing reflection of the giant slab of a granite wall to the West was simply more than I could ask for. I sat in the quiet taking long exposure shot of the fog rolling off el cap in the pre-dawn moonlight… Something I won’t soon forget!
