STILLNESS WITHIN

The morning started cold and the air held a rare stillness that froze your breath as it left your lungs! I had hiked a closed road for a ways in and found this lake to be absolutely still and nothing stirring, not even a bird! I walked out a ways on this sand spit to set up for this shot and I simply couldn’t help but to sit and admire nature at work. So much going on in this world and yet here, time appeared as if to stay still. I composed my shot and sat there with an immense moment of fulfillment, the cold had left my body, as I lay on the shore taking in the scene. I meditated a while before gathering up my gear and heading back out on the trail I had hiked in on.
