TETON REFLECTIONS

The air was crisp as we made our way up the mountain in the dark on this pre-dawn morning. The pace was quick as I wanted to catch the first hints of alpenglow hitting the grand spires of the Tetons looming high above. I was calm yet tense with anticipation! I’m not sure whether I was hoping to make sunrise in time, or hoping I did not run into a grizzly on the trail on the way up to this enchanting lake… With each step, the air began to fill with light and the air was cut with the raspy bugles of large bull elk in the heavy dark timber. As I crested the draw, this sight came into view and I was filled with excitement to know that I had made it in time to capture the moment just as I had hoped!
