Hiking through the dense rainforests along the jungles on the NaPali Coast of Kauai, we were greeted by the noisy song of a huge old growth bamboo forest moving in the gentle trade winds. The sounds of creaking, groaning and the leaves whispering in the wind left me with a feeling of wanting to be able to capture the story this old grove told. Being that bamboo grows together as a living family, this image was born and my thoughts drifted into how the forest faded into itself, full of shadows and stark young shoots bursting from the ground!
