Yosemite Spring

After a decade-long drought, the record rainfall was a welcomed relief. It was as if Mother Nature knew that she must nourish her children before they would perish and she bathed the entire mountain range in historic levels of rain. This was the first time I have had the opportunity to capture Yosemite Valley completely flooded, this was an awe-inspiring vision to behold. I found a patch of Western Azaleas in full bloom with Yosemite Falls reflected in the flooded basin below, a composition that is nothing short of idyllic. I sat there in bliss as I knew I had captured such a unique glimpse into this rare event.
