After carefully watching the weather for months, with storms dropping massive amounts of water all over the desert, I grabbed my camera and rushed out the door to get on the road! After a long drive, I arrived right before dark, met with heavy fog and low visibility. I wandered out into the flooded desert playa hoping the sun would break through, however it wasn’t looking good. After waiting for a short while, I was losing hope when out of nowhere this small crack opened up in the clouds on the horizon allowing this ever so small beam of light to shoot across the flooded plain and onto the mountain behind me! This is what I strive for in all of my travels, to be witness to light shows like this with a camera in hand! I was amazed at the beauty displayed that night; it only lasted for less than 10 minutes but worth every moment of the journey!
