Nordic Glow

After several days of winter snowstorms, I had made up my mind to make the trek up this Icelandic mountain in order to capture this composition with near white out conditions. Once I reached the valley, everything was perfect and immediately began to set up for the shot! The wind was violently blowing snow off of the top of the ridgid peaks in every direction, creating an almost otherworldly feeling! There was the softest hint of the Aurora Borealis dancing overhead as I composed this shot. It was such a great sense of awe and appreciation for the moment as the light continued to fade into darkness.
