Organ Pipe Bliss

After many years of chasing rare and elusive blooms, I finally struck gold! With recent rain in the desert, I knew this spring would give way to one of the most spectacular blooms the desert has seen in many, many years. Fields of purple scorpion weed and blue lupine flowers carpeted the desert floor as far as the eye could see! The tall saguaro and Organ Pipe cactus surrounding this mountain were very strong and made for a profound composition; however, I did not wish to take away from the prominence of the peak itself. I hiked around the mountain searching for an area that composed the cactus, the peak, the flowers and the final light of day in a manner that truly exemplifies the Sonoran Desert landscape. I feel this image portrays this perfectly!
