Sierra Light

I have been here many, many times. This place is very challenging to shoot simply because the compositions are very challenging to find and almost all of it is messy. Each and every time I’ve been there the dunes always shift making it almost impossible to go to the same compositions until you find your moment! So on this day I set out on foot across the dunes! After hiking back and forth, searching within the tangles, I had literally lost myself attempting to capture the moment. Light was fading pretty quickly and on this evening we were very fortunate to actually have really great conditions with a perfect little hole above the mountains which light poured from as the sun gently set behind the distant range! As I scrambled back to the best composition I had found while scouting, I was lucky enough to capture these fleeting few seconds of light with that touch of brilliance to illuminate the scene! Stoked to have a shot from here finally with good light, it wasn’t without some challenging composition work but I think I am finally happy with this perfect capture!
