Solace

Anticipating a shot like this for years finally had me in the right place, at the right time! I had watched the weather for years and traveled to this location several times to no avail. Everything just never seemed to come together, and then it happened! That’s the adventure, the work and imagination behind each image. Moments like these, etched into my memory! Walking across this flooded playa in the pre-dawn light with only two inches of water covering the desert floor for miles was unreal to experience. Shortly thereafter, I was rewarded with an exceptional light show where the clouds parted on small areas, revealing sharp, contrasting oranges and soft blues! I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to shoot such a rare event in nature!
