SONORAN SNOW

I had been tracking this particular low-pressure system for well over a week, it was fierce and extremely cold, I knew the odds were pretty good that we would see a good amount of snow in the desert South West, however, nothing could have prepared me for what was to come. With three days of snow flurries and temperatures in the teens, the day after the storm passed through found the Superstition Mountains covered in a fresh coat of snow all the way to their base a thousand feet below! To be in this moment and positioned to capture such an epic moment as the sun set is something I will never forget in this lifetime! The snow blew from atop the peaks of Three Sisters Butte’s as the setting sun gently caressed the flanks of the mountain with soft light framed in Saguaros!
