My favorite pursuit is chasing light among the rarest of rare moments! With a hopeful heart, I embarked on a trip down an old ranch road, parked and began my long hike around the mountain. I was seeing signs that looked promising however, it was not until I rounded the corner of this bend revealing a hidden alcove that my breath simply paused for a moment! A low lying carpet of glossy leaves covered the ground, surrounding the redwoods for quite some distance and in the middle of one perfect patch were these perfect candy flowers in full bloom. Simple, delicate and elegant.
