As I was standing upon this weathered old fishing dock on Southern Kauai’s shores, the sun rose from behind me illuminating the stormy clouds with an incredible glow. The smell of salt in the air and crashing waves against the sandy shoreline created an incredibly peaceful moment. Moments later, an old man walked down the pier with a cane pole and sat at the end looking out over the sea. I could only imagine what he had seen here for years before as I admired the simplicity of the scene before me.
